BANKING FACILITIES

Available Monday to Friday 8.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. and on Saturday morning, during the months of October through to March, from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Located in Las Sabinas, Bellaluz and La Plaza.

CAR HIRE

Car hire can be arranged through Reception either during your stay or prior to your arrival. The wearing of seat belts is compulsory at all times. Please observe the speed limit within the resort – 30 kms. per hour.

CHEMIST (FARMACIA)

There are two chemists on resort, one in BellaluzVillage and one “para farmacia” in La Plaza (opposite the petrol station). Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9.30 a.m. – 1.30 p.m. and 5.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m. Saturday 9.30 a.m. – 1.30 p.m. Reception will help you locate the emergency chemist on Sunday if necessary.

CHURCHES

There are two catholic churches in the area, one in Los Belones and the other in Cabo de Palos. Mass is held on Sunday in Los Belones and in Cabo de Palos. For timetable please contact reception. Inter denominational services are also held on the second and fourth Sunday of each month at St. Teresa Church, Las Lomas within La Manga Club. (The Church is situated between Las Lomas Reception and Mr Chan’s restaurant.)

CURRENCY

The currency in Spain is the Euro. The exchange rate obviously fluctuates from day to day. Bank notes come in denominations of 500, 200, 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5 euros. Coins come in denominations of 2€, 1€ also 50, 20, 10 , 5, 2 & 1 cents.

DOCTOR

The doctors’ surgery is situated in the Medical Centre next to the telephone exchange near El Rancho From November to May it is open from Monday to Friday from 9.30 a.m. until 2.00 p.m. and from 5.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.. From June to October in addition to the above times the surgery is open from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on Saturday.

DRINKING AND DRIVING

Driving whilst under the influence of drink or drugs, is a serious offence in Spain and La Manga Club is a public area of Spain. The law will be enforced both by the Guardia Civil and also the La Manga Club security guards.

DRY CLEANING AND LAUNDRY

There is a laundry run by the Hyatt Regency Hotel but situated in Bellaluz opposite the bank. Open 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Pressing, dry cleaning, laundry and alterations service all available.

ELECTRICITY

The electrical voltage is 220 AC.

EXCHANGE FACILITY

The nearest “Bureau de Change” is located in the Sportique shop near the petrol station.

MARKETS

Local street markets are held between approximately 9.00 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. in various local towns and villages.
Please note: Take care of your personal belongings and beware of pickpockets.

NEWSPAPERS

Most British newspapers are available either after 5.00 p.m. on the day of issue in the lobby shop at the Hyatt hotel or from shops in Bellaluz.

PETROL

There is a petrol station with a mini market on resort opposite La Plaza. Credit cards are accepted for payment. There are also petrol stations on the motorway en route to La Manga strip and en route to the airport. Unleaded petrol is called “Sin Plomo” and Diesel is called “Gas Oil”.

RESTAURANTS AND BARS

SECURITY

When leaving your villa, even for a short time, ensure that all the doors and windows are firmly shut and locked and that the door key is not left outside in the lock. If you notice any suspicious looking persons around  please report them immediately to the La Manga Club switchboard by pressing the button “LMC switchboard”. Your prompt action could help to prevent a robbery.

SUPERMARKETS

There are two supermarkets on the resort, one is in BellaluzVillage which is open from Monday to Saturday from 9.00 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. and on Sunday from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. The other is in Las Sabinas Commercial Centre and is open from Monday to Saturday from 9.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. and from 5.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. The hypermarkets – Eroski and Carrefour in Cartagena and Upper El Paso near Cabo de Palos are open Monday to Saturday 10.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. Upper El Paso, en route to Cabo de Palos, opens on Sunday from 11.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

TIME DIFFERENCE

Spain is 1 hour ahead of the U.K. time.

WATER

Due to the dramatic increase in the cost of water on the resort you are kindly requested to avoid excessive use whenever possible.
